Rachael Bennett has a diverse fashion career that includes Design Director RACHEL Rachel Roy, Designer Calvin Klein, and business owner and design partner of Alessi.Bennett. She is a strong team builder with proven success in mentoring and inspiring others. Rachael is focused on building exciting lifestyle brands by designing and executing innovative style concepts that are on trend and brand right.
RACHAEL BENNETT is a proven Creative Team Leader and Design & Concept Innovator that expertly threads the needle of storytelling from concept through marketing.
Rachael brings a strong design POV with an understanding of brand management developed through work with diverse companies. Currently, as Creative Director for a multi-brand, multi-national trend forecasting agency, The Doneger Group, she is a a hands-on trend, design, and color consultant. Prior, Rachael worked as an Independent Design Consultant with multiple clients including J.Crew & Santorelli as well as startups on the various needs of corporate design by combining her extensive expertise in brand direction, trend, and style inspiration with knowledge of domestic and overseas product development. Additionally she held the role of Head Designer at RACHEL Rachel Roy, where she guided the brand through carefully developed macro trends and set seasonal mood boards, colors, and silhouettes. She joined the the team at the brand’s inception and takes greart pride in take great pride in being a part of growing the business to 100M+ through consistent passionate work and identifying opportunities in the market and strategically building on successes.
Rachael was a faculty member of The Redwoods Initiative where she worked with clients on branding, style execution, and business timelines. She was an invited speaker for Damsels In Design (DID), a women's networking group dedicated to empowering design professionals, where she shared insight into her personal design process.
Rachael has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia for design inspiration, yarn developments, fabric R&D, and to manage the production of her collection. Her pieces have been featured in multiple publications including Vogue, Teen Vogue, ELLE, Lucky, O Magazine, and WWD.
She received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University followed by post graduate studies at Parsons School of Design.
